I am an official blogger.....My son Blake, asked me to blog about their swim test today. I wouldn't want to hurt his feelings!:) Today Blake and Ethan took their swim tests and both did very well.
Blake is in level 2 and passed with flying colors. His teacher wrote that he did a great job and was a great leader for his class. He did everything first from jumping off the diving board to swimming any style they asked him to do. He is ready to move on to level 3.
Ethan is in level 3 and didn't pass his test. That is ok. Remember, he was the one that was afraid of deep water. Did I say was??? Yep, he swam in deep water. He missed a couple of swim styles, but for the most part he passed. Ethan also passed on his dives. He had to do three different dives and he passed them. I am happy that he conquered his fear of deep water. For a treat, the instructor wanted the kids to try different kinds of dives. The first was a front dive off the diving board. Ethan tried and did it. The next dive was a back dive. Ethan tried it and slammed his back against the water. His back was very red!! That didn't stop him, he got on the diving board and tried again. This time he tried it and did it! Lastly, they taught them to do a forward flip off the diving board. Ethan tried and did it. Everyone in the audience were cheering the boys (three boys were the only ones willing to try) on every time they made the dive. It was awesome.
Both boys had fun in their swim lessons and want to go again. I hope that we can do it so they don't lose what they know, and enjoy their summers at the lakes!
