Iwo Jima Memorial

We feel so blessed to be so close to DC. We were told this was a place we needed to check out.

We were not disappointed. The children couldn't believe how big it was and wanted to know everything about the Memorial.

Unfortunately, neither Roger or I know much about the history of it and read what we could to find out about it.

This is the breathtaking view of Washington from the Memorial.

This memorial is right next to the Arlington National Cemetery. We wanted to take the kids to see the changing of the guard, but got lost finding the entrance. So that visit will have to wait for another day.

Also, I need a better camera. The camera doesn't do justice to what we see out here.

Any recommendations?
