Bethlehem Walk....

We were told by a lady from church about this Bethlehem Walk we needed to go during the holiday season.
Since we are new to the area, we are open to any suggestions that would be fun for my kids to attend to.
We were not disappointed at all.
This church had their members dressed up during the birth of Jesus Christ and you walk and listen to them talk about that special night.
As you walk through Bethlehem, you see many of the people working at their trades and handing examples to the children. Anything from clay jars to beaded jewelry.

Along the walk, Caleb especially loved seeing the animals.

They also had samples of food for the children to try and throughout the journey they talk about the new star and if we have seen it yet.

We head outside to the barn and the children were excited to see more animals...

Caleb loved seeing the donkey. I was surprised how well the animals behaved with so many people around them.
Ending our Bethlehem walk seeing Baby Jesus.

We were so impressed with how much the Parkwood Baptist Church did for the Bethlehem display.
We definitely will be looking forward to going again next year!!

How fun!!! Our ward did that one year, but they didn't put as detail into as this one. Impressive!!

As you know I have mixed feelings about Christmas. I am not sure that it is good to lie to the children about what took place. What you say may come back to bite you some day. You know, for example, that Jesus was not born on December 25th.
All said and done, it must have been a happy experience for the kids. There is some merit in that.

The Naz does this in Fergus Falls every other year called "The Marketplace." It's really cool. In 2005 I got to be Mary and Abram played baby Jesus, it was AMAZING!!!

Once again, you're introducing me to wonderful things that I had no idea about and we've lived here for 11 years. Looks like a great place to visit!
