Fa-La-La-La-La-La-La-La-La
I remembered when I was younger, one of our Christmas traditions was to go Christmas caroling with another family to members of our church. We would leave them a treat and sing our hearts out to the smiling faces of those we touched that evening. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to continue with the tradition with my own family when my children were old enough to sing.
We started this tradition with the Schmidt family many years ago. Between the both of us we usually had a good group to go singing to the families that we chose that year.
As the years went by, and moves later we ended up in Northern MN, we asked the Hubert family to join us and carol to the special families that got to hear us sing. I would have used the word privilege, but my family aren't much singers and we only sing once of year for that reason. So consider yourself special or anything else you may add if you had a chance to hear us sing.
This Christmas was another move to another area and once again we needed to find a family who was willing to sing with and to help us continue the tradition of Christmas caroling. Roxann and her family came and we enjoyed being with them. We decided to carol to the families we visit each month and we prepared the yummy treats for them to enjoy.
My children knew this was coming, and even though they don't like to sing, they knew this would bless a family for this simple act of kindness.
It turned out really well. One family enjoyed it so much that they decided to go carolling with us. It gave us an opportunity to get to know some of the families from our church and for them to know who we were.
Later, my friend, Roxann invited us back to her home for some cookies and hot cocoa. A nice warm inviting way to end our caroling.
On a side note, we went caroling to a family from church whose last name was Krueger. Emma wanted to know if it was Mr. Krueger from the movie, "Mr. Krueger's Christmas". She was very excited to meet him and sing for him!
