Walker Art Museum
Would you ever take your children to an art museum? I don't know if I would. Imagine not to be able to touch anything and you need to keep your hands to yourselves. Well, that is exactly what we did this past weekend. We took our kids to the Walker Art Museum in Minneapolis to celebrate my beautiful niece, Sammi, birthday.

If you have a chance to visit Minneapolis, come and visit this place on the first Saturday of every month. Everything there is free. One of my favorite four letter words. Last Saturday the theme was sound waves and art.
When we arrived, we took the kids to a magic show which they enjoyed and Gabe was able to be a participate in the act. He had his cousins cheering for him!

Then we took the kids to the arts and crafts were they made drums, shakers, or guitars and then they put their musical instruments to the test of sound waves.

The next arts and crafts was all about science. Remember how much my children love anything to do with science. They created their own skeletal bone hand, made invisible ink notes, watched crystals grow, and enjoyed exploding crayons.
(no pictures were taken afterwards due to lack of memory on photographers part)
My mom and my brother took Sammi and I took Emma to see some dancers from New York perform and then last we enjoyed a good scavenger hunt through the art gallery. No touching allowed and my kids did well with it. Of course, their were art gallery police all over watching our every move making sure we followed the rules. I never felt so much love! (rolling of eyes)
Overall, I would give this event a 9 out of 10 and my kids enjoyed it very much. The kids are already asking for next months activity and when they can come back, especially since we didn't have enough time to explore the sculpture garden with a scavenger hunt to add to the fun!!
