4th Place Dragon Band and an Invite........

This all began over three months ago.
Crazy schedules,
band dues,
lots of money for a band trip!!
Truthfully, neither Roger and I were excited about Marching band.
We grumbled about Marching Band taking over our lives.
We complained how much this and that cost.
We dragged our other children to see them perform in contests, competitions and football games.
They complained it's the same routine over and over again.
We know!!
But, we kept pressing on.
We saw improvements.
We saw an amazing performance!
We saw all the hard work starting to pay off.
We started to get excited for them.
Then they were off to Indianapolis, Indiana for the BOA Grand Nationals.
We were praying they would make it to the semi-finals.
This was their first time competing in a National Level.
We spent the next two days with other Band Members Parents watching them perform.
Very stressful, I ate a lot, said a lot of prayers and cheered very loudly!
My handsome sousaphone player is there performing his little heart out!!
So proud of him!!
So proud of Round Rock when they made it to the semi-finals!
Once again they performed their very best.
They were awarded Outstanding Music Performance and the best news ever......
They made it to Finals.
One of the 12 finalists.
No one is sleeping now.
All the parents head to the Band Hall to watch them perform one last time.
Lots of cheers, lots of nervous energy floating everywhere.
We were so proud of them no matter what place they got.
Being a finalist, each individual band member received a medal.
What a great honor, but seriously they had to drag it out???
WE wanted to know!!
So they started,
12th place, 11th place, cheers everywhere....Dragon Band made it in the top 10!!
10th place, 9th place, 8th place, 7th place, 6th place........More cheers, screaming cheers, no one is sitting in their chairs.......Dragon Band made it in the top 5!!
5th place.......then 4th place......
Dragon Band came in 4th place!!
Now the band hall is screaming with joy, tears everywhere, hugs and high fives spread throughout.....
then the best news ever......
they were invited to be in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena California 2015!!
Screaming, jumping and more hugs, laughter and tears everywhere!!
No one expected it, but everyone knew how hard they worked to get there!
Ethan loved every moment of it.
He is so glad that he got to be a part of this experience!
Some of his souvenirs from the Band trip!!
One tired and happy boy!!
Round Rock Band, you guys did a fabulous job!!!
We are all so proud!!
