National History Museum....

This week my kids have Spring Break.  Since we can't go anywhere due to Roger's teaching schedule, we decided to do it in D.C.  After all, it's the third best place to take your kids on vacation during Spring Break!!!
HA!! What was I thinking????
We arrived in D.C. at 10:30 and already their is a huge line to get into the museum.  After we squeeze our way through we headed to the Fossil Hall.
Caleb was so fun to watch during this trip. He was so excited to see everything to the smallest fossil rock....
....to the fossil dinosaur!!

As we moved along, the crowds kept getting bigger and bigger.  We met some friends there, but it was so hard to keep track of everyone, we basically went off on our own.
We are at the Ocean Hall here.
 More fossils to play with....
 Impressive dinosaurs to look at...
We wanted to see the Butterfly exhibit, but it was sold out by the time we got there so we ended up checking out the insects, reptiles and human fossils!!
The kids, especially Caleb, really enjoyed the museum despite that it was so crowded! If you are ever in the area, this is one museum the whole family will enjoy!!

Our next adventure.......The National Zoo!!

We're embarking on tourist season here in DC and it makes enjoying the sites just a little less enjoyable. Crowds or not though, the Natural History museum is one of our favorites! My kids especially love the gems. Have fun at the zoo!
