Vote for Me, Emma B...
In Emma's class, they had a Mayor Election. She came home very excited to participate. My first reaction was to let her know that she's shy and she wouldn't be able to talk in front of her peers, but luckily, I stopped myself and asked her what she needed to do.
She made this cute poster and wrote her speech about how hard of a worker she is, how dependable and trustworthy she is and came up with an idea to improve the classroom. She spoke for a couple of minutes and enjoyed it a lot.
Then the votes came in...........her friend, Whitney, was Mayor of the classroom. Emma came in second by one vote. So the teacher gave her Mayor Assistant!! Emma was so happy! Her friend is out for a few days so Emma has been stepping up taking care of the responsibilities of the classroom.
I'm so proud of her. She did something that brought out her confidence in herself. She is blossoming so much living out here. Her next goal........Student Council!
Great job Emma!!
